Marquee Hire Terms and Conditions

1.         Liability for delay to or Contracts incomplete due to any of the following eventualities will not be accepted by us:

             (a)    Unsuitable sites

             (b)    The state of the wind or weather

             (c)     Loss or damage by fire or flood

             (d)    Any lockout or strike

             (e)     Any cause outwith our control 

 

2.         The hirer agrees to:

             (a)    Inform us of the presence of drains, pipes, cables, etc. likely to be affected and to repair or make good any damage to the site generally.

             (b)    Ensure that there is a suitable road to the site for vehicular use. In the event of this not being so, provide either: -  i)  suitable tracking to achieve vehicular access or  

                      ii) a suitable hard core road.

                                                         The hirer will be responsible for any repair to the road surface.

             (c)     Arrange for a suitable electricity supply to be available in a central point within the marquee for James Fletcher Limited staff to connect James Fletcher Limited equipment. The system to be adequately protected with R.C.D. and E.C.B. Please contact our office for advice.

 

NOTE - Always allow a minimum of 5’ all round marquee when measuring site to allow for guy ropes and stakes. When more than one marquee is to be erected on site, always allow 12’ between them for emergency vehicle access.

 

3.         (a)    We reserve the right to charge a deposit to cover part or whole of the equipment hired.

             (b)    All hire prices quoted subject to the site and sub-surface being suitable.

             (c)     In the event of emergency, we reserve the right to substitute alternative sizes of marquees or other equipment to give as near as possible the equivalent requirements

             (d)    All offers for hire are subject to increase, if the site is abnormal and causes an increase in labour and/or materials.

             (e)     The hirer agrees to pay out of pocket expenses, including the cost of site visits, should the hirer wish to cancel any contract, verbal or otherwise, without reasonable notice being given and to pay in full should the cancellation be made 21 days or less prior to the delivery date.

                                                               44-22                     days before delivery     75% of order value

                                                               less than 21           days before delivery   100% of order value

 

4.         (a)    The hire charges do not include attendance by James Fletcher Limited staff except during the actual process of erecting and dismantling.

             (b)    Period of hire is meant to mean the period for which the tentage or equipment is required to be ready for use and the hirer shall provide a plan showing the position in which the tentage is to be erected or have a representative on the site for that purpose.  In the absence of such a plan or representative the contractor having erected the tents or equipment will be deemed to have completed the contract.

             (c)     The hirer will be responsible for the safe custody of the James Fletcher Limited property while on the site and will make good to the firm all loss or damage to the firms property or equipment used on the site (fair wear and tear expected unless it be proved that such loss or damage was caused by faulty materials or workmanship).  Therefore, we recommend that the hirer obtains insurance cover for loss or damage to the property of James Fletcher Limited.

 

5.         We do not accept responsibility for any damage to equipment placed in marquees therefore; we recommend that the hirer obtains insurance cover for loss or damage.

 

6.         (a)    If James Fletcher Limited hires equipment on the client’s behalf, i.e. generators, toilets or heaters etc. we do not accept any responsibility in the event of a breakdown. The sub-contractors’ terms and conditions apply.

             (b)    If James Fletcher Limited personnel are called out due to a breakdown and the fault is found to lie with another contractor’s equipment, we reserve the right to make a call out charge.
