Adam joined the company in 2003 after leaving university. Previously he had worked during the school holidays and weekends. He has gained a good knowledge of the company by working in all departments. He is now responsible for maintenance and forward planning. During busy periods, Adam can be found out on-site with his own team.
Peter WatsonCommercial Manager
After many years working as a Production Manager for a large refrigeration company, Peter joined James Fletcher Marquees in 2005. His main day-to-day roles involve site visits with clients, producing detailed layout plans and costing. He also deals with the HR side of the business.
Jean EnglishFinancial Administrator
Jean had worked in many industries in various clerical positions gaining a wide range of knowledge before joining us in 2002. She is responsible for wages and accounts.
John ForsythHealth & Safety Consultant Tech IOSH
John has been the company advisor on all Health and Safety and training matters since 2000. He has worked in the manufacturing industry for many years where he has gained wide experience in all areas.
John FletcherOperations Manager
John was the very first employee of James Fletcher Marquees in 1983. He specialises in show marquees, two of his largest annual events are the Border Union Championship Dog Show and Northumberland County Show. Because he has been team leader at these events for many years, the organisers can confidently leave him to complete the contract on time from the marking out stage to the handover. When not erecting marquees, he is usually spending time inside them, as his other full time passion is a championship show rabbit breeder and judge. John’s two sons also work for the company.
Michael DaveyHead of Manufacturing
Michael first joined the company as a seasonal worker when he left school in 1988. He returned the following season and has been with the company ever since. He manufactures all our own traditional marquees as well as any for other organisations. During the busy summer months he can also be found out on site as a team leader.
John ArmstrongTeam Leader
John has been with the company for 24 years. Two of his largest jobs are Blackpool Championship Dog Show and the Value for Money Grand Summer Sale held at Ripley Castle, North Yorkshire, both events he has carried out for many years. John gets away from it all by ‘going fishing’ in his spare time.
Simeon AndersonTeam Leader
Simeon joined the company in 1989 as a marquee erector when he was 21 and has since progressed to team leader. He has been involved with the marquees at Gateshead Flower Show for over 20 years and during this time he has built up a good working relationship with Gateshead Council. Simeon is also involved with marquees for Ramside Estates including The North East Annual Lobster and Oyster Festivals which cater for over 1500 guests.
Steven JohnsonTeam Leader
Steven joined the team in 1993 after a motor mechanic apprenticeship. He specialises in party marquees and balls. When he is not at work Steven enjoys motocross and motor bike trials.
Barry JohnsonTeam Leader
Barry joined the company straight from school in 1995. He started in the manufacturing department and has progressed to team leader specialising in wedding marquees as he has a good eye for detail. Barry enjoys outdoor pursuits including cycling and skiing.
